RELEASE  PARTY  FLYAWAY Contest

In celebration of the release of their 5th studio album, 5 Seconds of Summer host an album release party in the form of a special performance with orchestra and choir at The Royal Albert Hall in London.

The international team ideated and executed an international flyaway for 50+ key media, contest winners, and super-fans from 15 global territories to attend not only the show, but a full weekend of unique fan experiences including a listening party featuring the band and a ‘5SOS landmarks’ tour of London in the iconic double-decker buses. We handled all travel, logistics, brainstorming, ticketing, contest details, and marketing for this major global activation.

Some examples of these media partners who attended or who we partnered with to host contests are MTV Brazil, Sunrise (the number 1 breakfast TV in Australia), 20 Minuten (the most read daily paper in Switzerland), BILD (Biggest German newspaper with 3.5 Million circulation), Radio ESKA (top Pop commercial Radio in Poland).

In addition, for the territories who were not able to send contest winners or media, we coordinated contests and promotions to win free livestream tickets and watch parties with local outlets.

The international team successfully pitched Dork for this cover issue and coordinated the interview, photoshoot, and lead up logistics to ensure everything was in line for publishing in around the album release. We specifically wanted to engage the 12-24 year old demographic with this campaign, so we pitched the band for Bravo. Bravo is the largest Teen Magazine in the German speaking market.

OUT OF HOME CAMPAIGN

We executed an OOH Mural Truck Advertising Campaign to advertise and eventize the release of 5SOS5 in the band’s home market the week following album release. The artist’s painted the truck over a few days at Manly Wharf, acting as a public art installation, with the new album blasting. This is a spot with loads of foot and car traffic.

After the album art was painted, the truck drove around covering North, East, West, South and Central Sydney plus Greater Sydney and surrounding suburbs including stopping by the boy’s parents’ houses, all the while blasting the new album and stopping in high traffic areas where fans could take photos.

There was a videographer / photographer present throughout the truck’s journey to capture content and share on socials.
